  About the Artist  

Martin Young Stained Glass Artist with a special interest in Medieval, Victorian Gothic Revival

and pre-Raphaelite art.

   Specialising in traditional kiln fired painting on glass, period and Contemporary designs. Domestic and public commissions can be

   seen not only in this country but as far a field as Germany, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand and the USA. Based on the Hampshire

   and  Dorset border in the UK examples of commissioned work can be seen at Highcliffe Castle, Priory School - Christchurch,

   Ringwood School, The Crown Public House – Everton. About 30 hand-painted inscriptions can also be seen in the Cloister Way Priory

   Church, Christchurch. Martin was featured making a stained glass roundel on BBC 'Southern Ways' television programme in 2002.

   He was commissioned by Christchurch Borough Council to produce a stained glass panel depicting a figure from the main Jesse  

   window in the Great Hall, Highcliffe Castle Dorset. Producing a display and a detailed explaination of all the processes involved in

   making such a window. This was used as part of their educational display.

Martin is currently Christchurch Borough Council's Stained Glass Artist in Residence at Place Mill, Town Quay, Christchurch, Dorset.
